Anthony Josep is a baritone attending the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. He has been featured in chorus for the IU Opera Theater’s latest production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and is looking forward to singing in the chorus for their upcoming production of La Traviata. He has attended summer programs such as the Schmidt Vocal Institute, where he studied with renowned performers Nathan Gunn, Sylvia McNair, and Brian Zeger. Anthony actively competes in vocal competitions such as the Schmidt Vocal Competition, National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Classical Singer, and the New York Lyric Opera Competition. Most recently he competed and was named a Finalist in the National YoungArts Foundation Competition. In addition to solo voice, Mr. Josep is also a solo pianist, and composer. He is actively involved with organizations at the Jacobs School. The New Voices Opera organization will be premiering one of his arias on their December concert “The X.” Anthony Josep studies in the studio of Dr. Brian Horne.   

Fun Facts:

#1:  I love film music and draw inspiration from composers such as John Williams, Danny Elfman, and Hans Zimmer.

#2:  My current favorite composer is Samuel Barber.

#3: My favorite show/dream role is Sweeney Todd.
